YouTube is an American video-sharing website headquartered in San Bruno, California. Three former PayPal employees – Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim created the service in February 2005. Google bought the site in November 2006 for US$1.65 billion. YouTube now operates as one of Google’s subsidiaries.

APPLY FOR YOUTUBE PARTNER PROGRAM(YPP)

Everyone can apply for YPP, but you do need to meet some of Adsense guidelines. Following are the guidelines:

1) Make sure you have only 1 AdSense account. Once you’re in the program, you’ll need an AdSense account to get paid. If you already have an AdSense account, use the one that’s already approved. You can link as many channels as you have to a single AdSense account. If you don’t have an AdSense account, you can create one while you’re applying for YPP.


2)Make sure you have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 public watch hours. When Adsense assesses channels for YPP, they look for context. When you reach this threshold, it usually means that you have more content. The threshold helps to make a more informed decision about whether your channel meets the policies and guidelines. Although reaching the threshold is not enough. You have to post consistently and your account/channel will undergo a review process by human reviewers.


You can apply for YPP anytime, but your channel will only be reviewed once you meet youtube’s threshold. Follow these instructions to apply for YPP:
1) Sign in to YouTube.
2) In the top right, select your account icon > Creator Studio.
3) In the left menu, select Channel > Status and features.
4)Under “Monetization,” click Enable.

Now you will also need to associate an AdSense account:
1) There’s a section for “Guidelines and Information” on the page. Click the “How will I get paid?” FAQ there to expand the answer. On the answer text, click the “Associate an AdSense account” link then click the “Next” button at the bottom of the next page.




2) Next, enter your google account and the URL of your channel. Describe your content, fill in the details like cell number, street address etc and click on Accept Association button.


Your AdSense application will be reviewed by automated machines as well as employees, and you will receive an email once it’s confirmed. As long as your account is in good standing, you should have this approved. 
It should take less than 24 hours but this is not guaranteed. Since a lot of applications are submitted for AdSense approval, it may take some time. 

Once your application been approved, your AdSense account is now linked to your YouTube account, and you can now start earning money from your videos.

Since it undergoes automated as well as human verification, remember to post friendly content and post on consistent basis.
Your account may get demonetized if you are inactive for 6 months or more.
